With the coffee pot ready and food laid out, the doors to Shared Spaces Haverfordwest opened to an influx of people on Friday 25th February. The aim of the day? To welcome the local community, officially open the co-working and test trading facilities, and give people the chance to meet the team and network with other likeminded entrepreneurs in the area.
The team welcomed a range of stakeholders, including start-ups, SMEs, the CEO of Pembrokeshire County Council, Will Bramble, and CEO of Business in Focus, Phil Jones.
With facilities open five days a week, regular in-person networking sessions and pop-up shop premises available, Shared Spaces Haverfordwest is bringing something different to the business community in Pembrokeshire. The pop-up shop is already occupied until the end of April, 2022, with ‘Bespoke For You UK’ selling personalised lifestyle products, gifts and confectionary. Strong interest from other local businesses indicates that it could be occupied until the end of September, 2022.
Peter Lord, Principal Officer of Business Development, Pembrokeshire County Council, said:
“With the changes in the way people work, Business in Focus have created a fantastic space to work from, right in the middle of Riverside Quay Haverfordwest. The pop-up shop will see some exciting new businesses come through, so one to watch.”
Gareth Thomas, Enterprise Hub Co-ordinator for Shared Spaces Haverfordwest, added:
“It was great to welcome a wide variety of individuals and businesses from the local community throughout the day. One of our aims with Shared Spaces is to create a community of likeminded entrepreneurs who can support each other, build meaningful working relationships and access support to help start and grow their businesses. The fact that we had such a great turnout with positive feedback speaks volumes for the demand of our services. We look forward to working with the people of Pembrokeshire and the local authority over the coming months to support the regional economy.”
Business in Focus Chief Executive, Phil Jones, added:
“It’s really fantastic to open the doors and welcome people to Shared Spaces Haverfordwest. Feedback throughout the day was overwhelmingly positive, with a strong demand for the services on offer. I’m looking forward to hearing more about the successes of the space.”
