About Us

Business in Focus is a social enterprise dedicated to supporting new and established businesses.

We have been helping people start and grow their own businesses for over three decades, by providing tailored expert business advice, access to finance, property requirements and skills training.

Some of our services are delivered on behalf of public and private bodies, and we have an excellent track record of working with both the UK and Welsh Governments.

Governance

Business in Focus Limited is a social enterprise that supports the growth of enterprise in Wales. We are a company limited by guarantee, governed by a Board of Directors.

To achieve our mission we work with a wide range of stakeholders. Our Board of Directors oversees our strategy and operations to ensure that our dealings are in accordance with our regulatory environment, our values and good business practice.

Our Board consists of Non-Executive Directors who are drawn from a wide range of business sectors and work with our organisation in a voluntary capacity (with the exception of our Chief Executive).

Our Strategy

Business in Focus has now been in existence for over 30 years. Over that time, we have continually evolved and adapted to the social, economic, political and digital environment in which we operate.

From small beginnings, we have grown into one of Wales’s leading and most trusted social enterprises, delivering highly successful business support, space and finance products to thousands of clients. At our heart lies one simple and unifying purpose and the reason we exist – to release entrepreneurial potential and enrich lives.

Our Sub-Committees

We also have three formal sub-committees that regularly meet to provide recommendations to the board.

The Strategy Working Party: scrutinising our overall strategy and key business decisions

The Audit Working Party: overseeing our financial management and statutory audit

The Remuneration Working Party: reviewing and advising on our reward and remuneration practice
