CEO Re-appointed onto the Social Security Advisory Committee

It has been announced that Business in Focus CEO, Phil Jones, has been re-appointed onto the Social Security Advisory Committee. This will be Phil’s second term and will run from 1st February 2023 until 31st July 2024.

On the re-appointment, Phil said:

“I’m so pleased to have been re-appointed onto the Social Security Advisory Committee. Representing Wales in the scrutiny of the UK Government’s welfare policy is a real privilege. As Chief Executive of a leading social enterprise like Business in Focus, this role also allows me to offer a business perspective as the committee assess the many push and pull factors for getting people into work.”

The Committee in an independent advisory body of the Department for Work and Pensions.

Phil continues:

“My Social Security Advisory Committee colleagues are all experts in fields such as tax, disability, citizen’s rights and, of course, welfare policy itself. Every time we meet is also, therefore, an opportunity to learn.”
