Vintage Shop Increases Sales Thanks to Shared Spaces Carmarthen
Testing something new for your business can sometimes be a daunting experience. However, thanks to the support of Focus Carmarthen Enterprise Hub and Shared Spaces Carmarthen, a vintage garment retailer was able to increase their sales in a week after opening a new pop-up shop in the heart of Carmarthen town centre.
Having successfully completed a two-week pop-up in the former Topshop building in St Catherine’s Walk, The Dandy Lion Vintage is a small, family-run business that specialises in vintage and retro clothing and accessories, as well as local handmade gifts and art. Shoppers found a wide range of products available to suit a variety of tastes. Based in the Shared Spaces building, the pop-up facility gave this local business the chance to showcase their vintage and retro offerings.
Matthew Kilgariff, The Dandy Lion Vintage said:
“It’s always nerve-wracking trying something new when it comes to your business, and we’re so pleased we made the decision to launch a pop-up shop in Shared Spaces Carmarthen. We believe that using the space has allowed us to try out his location before delving into a lengthy agreement, carry out market research and test demand for our products. The fact that we saw our sales increase quite a bit in the first week, is just fantastic!”
Angharad Harding, Hub Manager at Focus Carmarthen Enterprise Hub, added:
“We were delighted to welcome The Dandy Lion Vintage to showcase at the Hub over the Easter holidays. Focus Carmarthen Enterprise Hub provides business support to new and existing businesses, and our test trading facility is just one of many ways we support businesses, by offering them a space to showcase and display their products to the local community.
“The Dandy Lion Vintage Pop-Up opened on Friday 8th, and they had already increased their sales since opening the doors. With plenty of vintage and retro clothing on offer, they proved to be extremely popular with high street shoppers. Our location on St Catherine’s Walk was perfect for catching the eye of busy shoppers wandering the town centre, meaning they were getting the traffic they needed to boost their sales. We are excited to see how they move forward now the pop-up shop has closed, and we’re so pleased that we have been able to support them on their journey.”
