Location: Bridgend. Hybrid -Home-working with regular travel in South Wales

Job Purpose

Business in Focus has various business contracts with a portfolio of different clients, e.g. Start-up Loan Company, Welsh Government. These contracts deliver business support related services in Wales and the UK and are managed by the Business Contracts Manager. There is a team of Business Advisors who deliver these services with a portfolio of end-service users.

Job Summary:

Business Advisors will manage a portfolio of up to 40 pre-start up individuals, early- stage start-ups and existing businesses post Covid.
For pre-starts and early-stage start-ups, the Business Advisor will provide an impartial business focused approach, offering tailored support through a combination of virtual 1-2-1's and webinars, or telephone calls. Delivery will be primarily virtual/digital, but will include sufficient physical delivery to build relationships, ensure referrals and inclusivity. For established businesses, the Business Advisor will arrange virtual 1-2-1s to diagnose the needs of the business and propose suitable tailored support, facilitating access to specialist Advisors and support from Business Wales, as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have: 

• Essential
  Advisory qualification, e.g. ILM Level 5 Business Support, SFEDI Level 5, or equivalent
  OR Management Qualification, e.g. ILM Level 5 Management, or equivalent
  OR Degree level business qualification
• Proven experience of running/managing a business OR significant experience at senior management level, with responsibility and influence for business strategy and operations that employed staff:
  OR Proven experience of delivering general business advice* to a diverse portfolio of businesses that employed people and operated.
• Comprehensive awareness and knowledge of business support available from Public and Private sectors
• The ability to be effective in determining priorities, planning time, organising workload to establish measurable results, objectives and milestones for self.
