Enterprise Advisor - Carmel Barry

Carmel Barry has been engaged in helping people setting up successful and sustainable businesses for over 40 years.  Initially, this was part of her role in Nat West Bank, where she worked for 24 years, becoming a Senior Business Manager of one of Wales’ largest branches with a staff of 80+.

Carmel set up her own consultancy business in 2000, delivering support to businesses looking to raise loan capital, writing tenders and bids, as well as writing and delivering training courses. She began to work on Welsh Government business support contracts, with a range of providers including Newport & Gwent Enterprise, Centre for Business, South Wales Chamber of Commerce and currently with Business in Focus. This new project is providing her with what she describes as her most rewarding work ever.

Carmel says; “This new, exciting WCVA Active Inclusion project is a fantastic opportunity to reach out and provide support, guidance and help to people in Blaenau Gwent who are facing challenges and hurdles, and for whom their own business could be a perfect next step”.

“They don’t even have to have an idea yet – they may just want some help to think about what they like doing, what they are good at, and then let us help and guide them and see if this can work out for them”.

Please get in touch for a friendly chat and let’s see if this project can help you.
